Flaming Text
Yep, more Photoshop-ness.
Instructions:
1) Make a new text layer with the desired text [in white]. Call this layer "Text."
2) Rasterize "Text." [Right click the name and click Rasterize Layer]
3) Make two duplicates of "Text." [Right Click, Duplicate Layer twice] Name them Backflame and Frontflame.
4) Rearrange the layers so they are in this order: [top to bottom] Text, Frontflame, Backflame.
5) Rotate 90 degrees. [Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CW]
6) Select layer "Frontflame." Add wind from left. [Filter > Stylize > Wind]
7) Make sure that the streaks go off to the right of the words. Press Ctrl + F.
8) Repeat steps 6 and 7 to layer "Backflame," but this time, using wind one more time.
9) Rotate back 90 degrees. [Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CCW]
10) Still on "Backflame," click Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. Check colorize, then darken and saturate as necessary and select a color. [I used Red - 0H,100S,-50L]
11) Repeat on "Frontflame" with a different color. [I used Yellow - Same as Red, but with 60H.]
Note: For smaller/taller flames, you may want to use Wind less/more times.
End results: [I used it three times with different settings, and once did taller flames.]
Edit (5:28) ~ I forgot to mention that the text must be white. Afterward, however, you can change it if you want.
